597 million and 325 thousand rupees royalties collected from mountaineers climbing Mt. Everest this spring.

Kathmandu, April 17: The government has collected royalties to the tune of Rs. 597 million and 325 thousand rupees from mountaineers climbing Mt. Everest this spring. A total of 558 mountaineers have taken permission to climb Everest this spring, of which 542 are foreign climbers, informed the Tourism Department. The state charges USD 11,000 to foreign tourists for climbing Mt. Everest. Royalties from foreign climbers make up Rs. 596.2 million rupees of the total royalties collected.
