Farmer compensated for loss of goats in lightning strike

Myagdi, July 7: The District Livestock Service Office has compensated a farmer who incurred huge economic losses after his goats were killed in lightning strike at Myagdi’s remotest village – Dhaulagiri rural municipality 1 – last year.

On August, 15, 2016, lightning strike killed 95 goats at a barn at Gurja’s Purano Buki area. The concerned farmer lost Rs 900,000 in the unfortunate incident.

The farmer has received Rs 165, 000 in compensation, District Livestock Service Office, Animal Development Official, Nar Bahadur Baniya confirmed.
