  • Flights obstructed as communication system goes kaput at Kathmandu airport

    Kathmandu, January 8

    Many flights scheduled to take off and land in the Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu got obstructed for at least one hour on Tuesday morning as a communication system went kaput.

    TIA General Manager Raj Kumar Chhetri says efforts are currently underway to install new devices in the system so as to resume the flights at the earliest.

    “The voice communication control system (VCCS) could not work due to problems in the power supply of area approach,” he says, “We have extra devices. Our engineers are working on it.”

    He assures that the service would resume soon. Even now, there is not any problem in taking off, according to him.
