Japanese Foreign Minister calls on PM

Kathmandu, January 10

Japan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Taro Kano, has called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Kathmandu on Thursday morning.

Kano is in Nepal since Wednesday on a two day official trip.

The Prime Minister’s Secretariat says the two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation including the recruitment of Nepali workers for jobs in Japan, during the meeting.

Meanwhile, the guest is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the Sheetal Niwas before his departure today itself.

Kano’s 18 member delegation on Wednesday had held bilateral talks with Nepali officials. The two countries had also signed an agreement on aviation cooperation, according to which direct flights between the two countries will be launched soon.
