  • Kathmandu city to boast ‘ultramodern’ public toilets

Kathmandu,May 15: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City says it will soon install six ultramodern toilets in Kathmandu. Later, there will be total 70 such toilets in the city.

Though the plan was put forth some two years ago, the installation could not be carried out due to lack of investors. The restrooms will now be made available with the investment of KMC itself.

The local government had requested various banks, and organisations to invest, but none of them agreed.

The restrooms will be made in six locations as of now. “The ultramodern toilets will be established in Baneshwor, Tripureshwor, Chabahil, Babarmahal, Gongabu, and Basantapur through rotomoulding technology,” informed Mahesh Kafle, an official at KMC’s Public Private Partnership Unit.

The toilets will be mobile, and suitable to be kept in small space too.

The KMC has planned to buy the mobile ultramodern toilets from China.
