Nepal Revises Visa Fees For Foreign Tourists

Kathmandu, July 11

The government has revised its tourist visa fees for foreign tourists. The new tariff will come into effect from July 17, the first day of the new fiscal year.

The government on May 26 had made a decision to increase the visa fees.

The Department of Immigration informs that the last time the visa charges were revised was 10 years ago.

“We have made minor revisions to the tariff that was not changed in past 10 years,” the Department’s Director General Ishwar Raj Paudel says, “It is a beginning of the process to update the visa fees.”

That revision will be made based on equality and reciprocity, he says, adding, “If you have to pay 100 dollars to visit Sweden, a Swedish should also pay the equal amount.”
