Oli, Dahal agree on NCP’s political line

Kathmandu, July 7

Around 13 months after they announced the merger of CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre to form the Nepal Communist Party, its two chairmen have agreed on the party’s political line and other key documents, sources claim.

Differences between KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairmen of dissolved UML and and Maoist Centre respectively, have left the merger at lower levels incomplete. Likewise, the party has not been able to publish its political report till now.

One of the key differences was about the party’s guiding principle. The UML side was advocating for People’s Multiparty Democracy whereas the Maoist Centre side was for People’s Democracy.
